Sway

Sway

By Tommy LoMaglio

Somewhere deep, in dark abyss

amidst the cold and emptiness

pressed against the belly of this earth

Standing, all alone and yet

rooted, pressing strong against

the currents cruel and unforgiving push

and all the ocean, let it rage

and furies of the seas engage

let them carry an as they may

let them clench and throw their fists

no matter how they may insist

they can never ever, ever make him sway...

Stasis

My God, will this winter never end?
The ice is thick upon my heavy heart
Laden with my cold, chilling sorrow
My very breath is but an empty fog
A dismal sign of what hollow frost lies within my lungs

My most precious sun has abandoned me
Left me out to freeze
From my blossom of radiant warmth,
No more shall I draw my comfort, No more

Alone. Cold.

I long for her embrace
To melt my snowy spell
To rouse me from my slumber
Waking into the light of a new morn
Alas, my sweet sun, she is gone.
